- Roof inspections
Paul Saunders Roofing carries out about
500 roof inspections a year for both real estate agents and homeowners,
in the process of selling, buying, or maintaining homes and commercial
buildings. A roof inspection consists of an up-close assessment of
the roofing, flashing details, and design that are currently on a
property with comments on its condition and an estimate for any repairs
needed. Our inspection rates vary on the size of the property and
the complexity of the building. What our customers get is a full understanding
of what to expect from their roof, allowing them to budget for problems
or negotiate repairs needed with the seller.
- Roof leaks
No job is too small: we handle roof leaks
from $125.00 on up, and have several products that we can apply to
a roof even while it is raining. We understand the high cost of damage
to ceilings and the interior of your home and, therefore, make every
effort to stop leaking roof situations as soon as possible.
- New roofs
We install new roofs on almost all roof
situations. We will provide a written estimate detailing the work
we propose to carry out for you. The following is a list of the most
common roofing applications we perform. Understand that this list
merely is a representation of our abilities, and we also work on many
custom projects.
- Roof repairs
On all types of roofing including: slate, tin, copper, EPDM, modified
bitumen, built-up, Ludowici tile (clay), Martin tile (cement), Monier
and other roof tile (concrete and/or clay).
- Gutters
Aluminum gutters and downspouts, copper gutters and
downspouts, galvanized gutters and downspouts.
- Through-the-roof penetrations
Valley flashings, through the roof vent pipe flashing details, (or
plumbing vents), chimney flashings in all types of metal, skylights,
roof hatches, roof ventilations, decorative ornaments, boxes, and
more.

Systems
Paul Saunders Roofing Company specializes in many of the more sophisticated
roof systems: including tile (Hendricks, Monier, Ludowici), slate
(Buckingham, Vermont), imitation slate, and metal (copper, tin, standing-seam
and flat-lock), among many others.
The company installs residential roofs, as well as larger commercial
and state buildings. Some of our work includes the Chapel and Arts
buildings at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. Commercial
projects include the tile roof on the Tuscan Villa condominium complex
for Morton G. Thalheimer, Inc., in Richmond.
Slate
Paul Saunders has handled a variety of slate in historic and residential
projects, and works with Buckingham and Vermont as well as imitation
materials.
Metal
Paul Saunders Roofing is very familiar with copper, tin, stainless
steel, Terne, and other metal roofs, as well.
Tile
We have expertise in a variety of tiles, including Hendricks, Monier
andLudowici.
Others
Paul Saunders Roofing is certified to install rubber (EPDM)
roof systems manufactured by Carlisle, located in Pennsylvania. Carlisle
offers warranties from ten to twenty years on low-pitched roof systems.
The company also installs modified bitumen roof systems using
Polyglass and Polyflex products, with warranties ranging from 12
– 20 years. Both of these roof systems are state of the art.
